40:28
New
King James Version
28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the
earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
Psalm

forth,
Or ever You [a]had formed the earth and the
world,
Even from everlasting to
everlasting, You are God.

Timothy 1:17
New
King James Version
17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible,
to [a]God who alone is wise, be honor
and glory forever and ever. Amen.
We are going to talk about eternity today and how eternal
perspective will impact your life on earth.
Eternal
perspective Impacts your life on Earth
When
Jesus Talked He talked about Eternity
When
Jesus preached He wove eternity, kingdom of God which is again eternal because God
who is Eternal, His second coming, he talked about eternal rewards/eternal loss
in to it.
Why did
he put so much emphasis on Eternity?
John 3:16
New
King James Version
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but
have everlasting life.
Matthew
10:28
New
King James Version
28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot
kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in [a]hell.
Matthew
5:29
New
King James Version
29 If your right eye causes you to [a]sin, pluck it out and
cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one
of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Jesus
Christ eternal Son of God had an eternal mindset.
If you
and I want to live a godly life we need to the mindset as Jesus Christ.
Philippians
2: 5-13
5Let this mind be in you which
was also in Christ Jesus, 6who, being in the form of God, did not consider it [b]robbery to be equal with God, 7but [c]made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a
bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and
became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the
cross. 9Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given
Him the name which is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in
heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11and that every tongue should confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Light Bearers
12Therefore, my beloved, as you
have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my
absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good
pleasure.
We need to recognise we are sojourners
Hebrews 11:13 - 16
13 These all died in faith, not having received
the promises, but having seen them afar off [e]were assured of
them, embraced them and confessed that they were
strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For those who say
such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. 15 And truly if
they had called to mind that country from which they had
come out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 But now they desire a better,
that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to
be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.
Paul had an
eternal mindset:
16Therefore
we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the
inward man is being renewed day by day. 17For our light affliction, which is but for a
moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal
weight of glory, 18while we do not look at the things which are seen,
but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary,
but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Philippians
3: 7-11
7 But what
things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet
indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of
Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and
count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be
found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from
the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the
righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know
Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His
sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any
means, I may attain[b] to
the resurrection from the dead.
Hebrews

New
King James Version
The Race of Faith
12 Therefore
we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us
lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let
us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking
unto Jesus, the [a]author and [b]finisher of our faith, who
for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the
shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The
examples of Men and Women in the bible who had eternal perspectives can be
found in Hebrews chapter 11
One
such example was Enoch
Hebrews
11 : 5-6
5 By faith Enoch
was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was
not found, because God had taken him”; for before he
was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But
without faith it is impossible to please Him, for
he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a
rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
In my life the eternal perspective makes search my heart
daily. Makes me guard my heart from anything thats evil. Its makes walk in the
fear of God. It make not cling to titles, prefixes position, ministry, or how
people perceive me.
People with eternal perspective are not people pleasers, they
do not fear people, they are not worried about the consequence of the obedience
in the now. They would rather suffer now in the path of obedience than disobey
their God.
When Jesus fed the thousands they wanted to crown him King
When talked about eating his body and drinking blood they
left him!
Then he asked his apostles if they wanted to leave too.
Where can we go for you have the words of eternal life!!
John 6: 61- 68
61 When Jesus knew in Himself that
His disciples [n]complained about this, He said to
them, “Does this [o]offend you? 62 What then if you
should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are
life. 64 But there are some of you
who do not believe.” For Jesus
knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray
Him. 65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless
it has been granted to him by My Father.”
66 From that time many
of His disciples went [p]back and walked with Him no
more. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also
want to go away?”
68 But Simon Peter answered
Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we
have come to believe and know that You are the [q]Christ, the Son of the living
God.”
There will be times in our lives we will be confronted
choices to Chose God or the world.
Please God or please man
Fear or fear man
Your eternal perspective will help you make the righteous choice.
